What to expect
Plastering is a wet trade, but good planning keeps disruption under control. Here is the usual journey for an interior job.
Get in touch by WhatsApp, Instagram or call Will directly. Send photographs, approximate measurements and a short description where possible; this helps establish the scope and whether a visit is needed.
The existing surface is checked for cracks, loose material, moisture or other issues. The approach, access and price can then be agreed.
The working area is cleared and protected before loose or unsound material is removed. Depending on the surface, preparation may include controlling suction with PVA, applying a grit primer, reinforcing cracks with mesh, fitting angle beads or plasterboard, and using bonding plaster to build out deeper or uneven areas before the finishing coats.
Plaster is applied in controlled coats, levelled and worked through several trowelling stages to produce a smooth, even surface.
The room is left tidy and the plaster allowed to dry with gentle ventilation. Avoid forced heat, and wait until fully dry before decorating. For extra insight and examples of previous jobs, visit the Will's Walls & Ceilings Facebook page.
